The Salem Baby Care Centre is situated in East London and offers a haven for destitute mothers and children. Salem provides an integrated and holistic programme towards self-sufficiency, ministering both God's love and practical support to destitute mother and their children on a national basis. The programme includes primary health and nutritional care for babies and children, educare for older siblings, literacy and skills training, HIV/AIDS education and support programmes for mothers. A portion of this year’s support from the Ironman 4 the Kidz Charity Trust, was utilised to install a much needed air conditioner in the baby care area and to ensure that current pre-school youngsters, graduated from Grade 0,offering them a grounding, support and tools to embrace their future challenge, as they enter Grade1 in 2012.
