When the charity started in 2005, who would have thought that ex Springbok Garth Wright and Gary Stephenson’s objective for 2012 would be R1.5 million. Once again we hope to present a win-win scenario for the sponsors, the organizers, the athletes and most importantly for the children.

How you can participate?

There are a number of ways that you can become involved in this amazing project and make a difference for the Kidz. As an athlete you can secure a sponsorship which differs per event or as an individual or company you can make a cash donation to the Ironman 4 the Kidz Charity Trust.

Just in time!

Leaving the South West of France on the 27 December 2011, Nicolas Gracco de Lay a French athlete, was convinced that his journey to travel
25 000km across the African continent would be fruitful.
His mission was twofold – to promote the sport of triathlon and to raise money for kids in need.

Nicolas' passion for kids lead him to team up with KFC Ironman for the Kids Charity, to help raise money for those in need, by securing various exciting items on his journey which will go on auction to assist the 2012 goal.

Nicolas arrived in Port Elizabeth on the 11 April just in time for the annual KFC Ironman 4 the Kidz 2012 press launch which offered him the opportunity to meet the Trustees, sponsors, beneficiaries and some very excited kids for the first time.

Our Promise

With the Ironman 4 the Kidz Charity Trust being a registered non-profit organization and having a social responsibility to 11 Charities, we will ensure that your contributions are effectively and correctly used to directly improve the life and needs of the Kidz in the Eastern Cape.

There is no limit to an amount of a donation to the Trust

All contributions received are accumulated and added to the final target of 1.5 Million for 2012

All participating companies are entitled to receive a Tax certificate for the donation amount from the charity, which assists with the yearly tax return.

Our Aim

The KFC Ironman 4 the Kidz Charity's aim is to raise awareness for the plight of less fortunate children,who often come from dysfunctional family backgrounds. Improving the quality of these children’s lives and making them more meaningful is what we are all about!

The idea of the charity began when the founders realised that they could raise money for needy children by participating in the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa. Even though the:

180 km cycle

42.2 km run

does seem like a daunting task “ but raising funds for the children is a great motivator” says Stephenson and with so many loyal and generous sponsors the 2012 goal of 1.5 Million is going to be difficult, but we believe it is once again achievable!
